Jesus hates Christmas..

I'm watching "The Boondocks" on Adult Swim and its a Christmas episode. This made me LOL - *Grandpa is listening to sappy Christmas stuff on TV* Grandpa: "..and that's what Christmas is all about.". Grandson(I forgot his name): "Noo.. Christmas actually started as a Pagan holiday. And Jesus probably hates you for celebrating it.". It made me laugh, I don't know if being an atheist has anything to do with that or not.

Actually history shows that He ws more likely born in April. The reason that we celebrate it during December is because the Catholic church way back in the day wanted to blend christian and pagan religions, like the tradition of solstice in December,because they figured that they had a better chance at political control if they could spiritual control the masses including those who didn't exactly share their beliefs. By blending a rough timing, although not specific days as that would offend staunch belivers and like cause riots instead, was something that they figured would help this transition. In fact if was the pagan roots of the germanic tribes from which the symbol of the tree was included.
