diaper rash that just won't go away ..

posted 7th Nov
Once I get it away it always comes back , im changing my son like crazy & putting tons & tons of desitin and powder on him now too .
I brought it up to his dr on the 29th and she just said to mix his desitin with A&D and I did that and it still came back .. I really don't know what else to do , any of you ladies try something to make a rash go away & it worked well ?

good point , i bought a big huge box of parents choice wipes 3 weeks ago and been using them that might be causing it , ill change it back to huggies & see how it goes .

stop using powder, when it gets wet the moisture slings to the skin. Also baking soda(the stuff in the orange box) added to the bath water helps. Have you tried letting his tush air out, I would put my daughter is training panties to try to contain any mess, but the freedom from the diaper works wonders. Triple paste works better than A&D, its what most hospitals use and can be purchased over the counter.

yeast infection= Niastatin (dr. prescribed)
rash= Bordreaux's Butt Paste (walmart OTC)

those meds work great for my daughter!!

My daughter had a really bad rash when she was little and we tried everything, and her doctor gave her prescription ointments, and then we found Dr. Smith's diaper rash cream and haven't had a problem since.

stop the wipes all together until the rash clears up, they have alcohol in them that irritates it ore, just use a wet washcloth or papertowel.

try using cloths and water to wipe her and switch (if your budget will allow it) to a hypoallergenic brand and see if that helps. Maybe even go cloth for a couple of days and see if that helps.

well mine was actually getting a rash from that certain type of wipe so we just switched and it went away and hasnt came back. i have heard that before too about not using them all the time it can irritate

First try stoping the wipes and changing the diapers. My daughter was having issues with Pampers diapers..it got so bad she would bleed.

Otherwise...Mix equal parts Liquid Maalox, cornstartch, and Balmex...until its a toothpaste consistency(in a container you can close) and smearthat on the boo-boo's.

I've given this home idea to 3 other moms and so far I'm4 for 4.
