rice.

what month did you start your babe on rice?
i started putting some in my 3 1/2 month old's formula just a tiny bit.

After 6 months, except for my youngest. We're skipping the cereals completely.

I don't want to seem rude, but just informative. Rice shouldn't be put into a bottle (unless your doc recommends it), it's a choking hazard.

I started my daughter on rice at 6 months (by spoon) and she hated it.

You're gonna get a lot of the comments about the rice in the formula, just so you know lol

But I started my son on oatmeal (instead of rice, bc my niece and nephew did that and I'm a copycat) cereal at about 4 1/2 months. We did about 1/4 a cup a day, but he didn't eat most of it, just shoved it out with his tongue. Before that reflex goes away you're really just trying to get them used to the spoon, they don't really eat much of it.

Yes, me too. I breastfed till they were each 22 months old - so I never gave them a bottle with anything in it! And for the momma avoiding cereal totally, why?

Because it isnt necessary.

They actually used to recommend it...but are finding it's a choking hazard, and really doesn't help them sleep longer. My mom is always talking about how she did things and how different things are now...I constantly have to remind her too.

I just moved my daughter on to stage one purees instead of rice - she never did eat it, oatmeal either. They really don't need it, and it's a lot of empty calories and pumped up in iron which can cause constipation.

I didnt do rice because she doesnt need it. I had people at her day care try to go behind my back and give her rice cereal and then spent 10 minutes arguing with me about giving it to her when I said no.
