Worst Birthday Ever *vent*

It's my birthday. My husband has been gone deer hunting since Thursday...6 hours away. I'm home with the kiddo...we went to a flu shot clinic and stood in line for an hour...then while kiddo was napping I started painting my bathroom. I hate the color. So, after supper I decided to head to the store and get a different color...a mile from my house I hit a deer!! With my kid in the car!!! I'm a rotten mom. I saw the deer running straight out of the river, saw him before he even hit the road...I slammed the brakes, but no luck.  

Surprisingly the air bags didn't go off, but the front side of my car is pretty well mangled and the door doesn't open very well. The deer died. It was a 4x4 white tail. Ironically, my husband has not shot his deer yet, and I didn't know that if you kill a deer with your car, it's yours. Well, I called hubby, tried to round someone up to haul it home for me...no luck. Meanwhile, about 900 people are stopping trying to claim the deer. The guy who had staked claim first (ass never even came over to see if we were ok!) seemed like a pretty big prick, so I offered him MONEY to drop it at my house (remember, a mile away). At first he was like "hell no", then he was like "wait, how much did you offer?" Fuck off.

The cops were pretty friendly about it, and one even argued with the game warden quite a while about it. She said she almost had her hubby come take it home for me. Several other hunters stopped and offered to drop it at my house AND gut it for me but it was too late. Why can't everyone be so nice?

So, yeah. All my friends are gone, kiddo is in bed, and here I am, all wound up, no one to talk to...and can't finish painting my bathroom because I have ugly paint and a mangled car.

LOL. My bathroom is just cut in with an ugly color...so it's white and stipes of ugly and completely dismantled because I was going to finish it tonight as a present to myself. I kinda wanted to prove to hubby that I rock while he was gone. No he gets to come home to a mess. LOL

That's evidently what I signed up for. My b-day is always deer opener. I got dinner on Wednesday and my present on Thursday.

I couldn't be more thrilled that we're both ok. Didn't even feel like it hit that hard (cop wasn't quite sure why the deer died or why air bags didn't fire)...as soon as I turned the lights on kiddo started playing, it didn't even phase her.. *phew*

Thanks. I'd take a picture and show off the remodel of my car (complete with a tuft of fur under the hood) and my bathroom, but my camera (oooh my beloved camera) went deer hunting too.
