Quoting Eli's mama:“ What do you do with the diapers when you change in a public place? Do you just put it in a bag and bring ... [snip!] ... do you clean cloth diapers? Just curious I've been thinking about cloth diapering a lot lately but I'm not sure about it yet.”
I have a small diaper clutch that I put it in. I line them with PUL (waterproof) and you just slide it into the clutch, close it up, put it in your diaper bag and take it home.
I clean cloth diapers by shaking or scraping off excess poo (but tht isn't very often that I have to do that, because my son is EBF, so his poo is natural, water soluable, and doesn't really need to be dumped, its soft and not big solid chunks.) Then, I run a wash load in cold to clean the diapers, one hot with some soap, and then another hot to rinse it the two times. Its very easy to maintain, super stylish, and very easy on the pocket book.
The extra water or electricity isn't even very noticeable, either.
Sure, it takes a little bit of money to invest in to start, but it pays for itself within the first couple of months.
