are fabric softener sheets okay for baby?

posted 7th Nov
i have dreft detergent.....but was wondering if fabric softener sheets are okay. i just have the costco generic (kirkland). the dreft was expensive so i don't want to "undo" the baby-ness if fabric softeners arent okay.

thanks ladies!

I wouldn't, but I am really careful with anything with chemicals around her.

I think Dreft is such a waste of money. They only market it "for babies" to make more money, any kind of detergent is fine as long as your LO doesn't mind it

for a newborn i would NOT use them because their skin may be too sensitive. my son's 10 months old and he does ok with other detergents/softners/sheets but i'm sure many kids are still too sensitive to them. and i wouldn't want to find out the hard way when the baby's tiny and new!

"A toxicology report issued by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) June 2, 2009 suggests that using a fabric softener may be toxic to your health and the health of your baby. Three of the seven toxic chemicals found in fabric softener and dryer sheets are of high concern to ECHA researchers because they are known to cause reproductive issues and birth defects."

I tried to google about the flame resistance and found this. Which is scary to even though its probably bullshit since EVERYTHING is dangerous and bad for you these days.

Oh cool. This is great news. Fuck.

I still stand by the fact that Dreft is lame and a complete waste of money, though.
