Birth control question *maybe tmi*

How long till birth control works. Haha. I started birth control 3 weeks ago. I have taken it 3 weeks and never missed a day. I just ended my period like last night, ( I had it during week three of my pills and haven't started the placebo week yet. Is it safe to use that as the only form of birth control or should we keep using a condom also? TIA

i think i would keep using condoms for at least 1 more week. i think my dr told me it was okay after i had been on my pills for a week or two, but still... in the past i thought they said to wait at least a month.

my doctor told me it takes a couple months to be fully effective.

they usually say to wait like 3 months before you dont use a condom...
and if you had ur period during ur regular pills then your cycle isnt regulated yet and you could still possibly concieve.

I'm pretty sure its a month before they start taking effect. I have been on them for 4 months now and we still use condoms lol

My mom is a pharmacist and she said it takes 7 days.

It also depends on when you started the pill. If you took it on the 5th day of your period it can take up to 14 days.

That is what my doc said. Use condoms for one week.
