I dont know what to do

posted 7th Nov
Ok my son Calvin is 16 months and he is starting to take his diaper off! Im thinking that maybe he is ready for potty training! If so how do I start training him? And secondly, he cant go to sleep without a botle, how do I help him fall asleep without his bottle?

put a onesie on under his clothes so he can't take the diaper off

just stop giving him the bottle or only put water in it so he loses interest. He doesn't take a sippy cup?

My Son is 18 months and the only way I can keep his diaper on him is to make sure he has a pants on at all times, ones that arn't easy to take off. lol

As for the bottle, with JJ I just took the bottle away and gave him a sippy cup of milk instead. He didn't seem to mind at all and hasn't asked for his "baba" once since I took it, he was about 13 months when we stopped bottles.

I would say if they can climb out of their crib they are ready for a toddler bed, and if they can take off their diaper they are ready for potty training.

I'm in the process of training my little girl, I first started off taking her potty with me when I go, just so she can get used to sitting on a little potty chair like mommy does. Then gradually I would ask her if she needed to go to the potty, take her and show her what her potty is, then i would sit with her while she went, and Praise her if she went potty, "YAY!! YOU WENT POTTY!!!" "GOOD GIRL!" and let her pour it into the toilet and flush, like a reward.

That went on for a couple months to get her into a routine, now about 5 - 10 minutes after every drink she has i ask if she needs to go potty, she goes by herself. And even asks to go potty if we are in the shopping mall.

Only took about 3 months. She is still in diapers cause she still cant always make it. But it is a working progress.

And with the bottle thing can't really help you on that. My girl got bored of bottles when she was about 5 months and changed to sippy cups since. Now shes in regular cups.

Good luck with everything.
