Worried...Might sound stupid, please read!

posted 7th Nov
So on Thursday I went to the hospital wth contractions every 2 minutes. I was only 1/2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. They made me walk for two hours and when there was no change, they sent me home. Since then I've had constant contractions, but none that really hurt. They told me not to go back until my pain on a scale of 1-10 was an 8 or 9. I'm no where near that. No water leaking or anything, but my baby def. dropped. Anyway, I was just doing a kick count, and it took her two hours, me eating and drinking, and walking, to get her to her minimum of 10 movements. They say only to go in if in the second hour she doesn't move 10 times. The thing is, is this is NOT normal for MY baby. She is usually REALLY active, especially when I drink something cold. I'm still worried, and she is really not moving much at all. I feel stupid for worrying, I just know that this is unlike my baby. Should I go in anyway?

I'd call your doctor... but if it gives you some reassurance, my baby didn't move AT ALL during labor... even early labor. But my doctor was good about getting me in for a quick NST if I was concerned about movement.

call the hospital number and ask for the nurse helpline. Dont feel stupid for worrying... thats normal. Something could actually be wrong and you wouldnt know. But I wish you the best. good luck and hope you have a happy healthy baby!

I'm just trying really hard not to freak out, everyone already thinks I'm a hypchondriac, not that that really matters. I just need some real reassurance. She's been normal since Thursday, just not this morning. I have a heart rate thing (a Graco one from Wal-Mart) and I can find her heart super fast, but I don't know if it's too fast or too slow. I do know its there though...

Not saying that you should ignore how you feel, but babies tend to quit moving a lot when you are getting ready to go into labor. They really have no room anymore anyway.

babies do move less when you are in early stages of labor, but if you are worried, go in! The worst they can do is send you home! They can't really get mad at you for being worried...

The real reason I am so worried is because my doctor just got on me for not doing a kick count everynight. I normally just do it when I worry because she is so active I KNOW I feel her more than 10 times an hour. She kept telling me "the baby's movements are her well being." She's been moving, just a lot less than normal....

i went in for my baby bot kicking for a one whole day and the nurses were mad because i should have gone in when the bay wasnt kicking for atleast two hours especially if its not normal for your baby not to move.
