Epidural or all natural?

posted 7th Nov
Okay.. I've been thinking alot about doing an entire natural birth. I like to think I have a pretty good pain tolerance and I like to think I would be strong enough to bring my daughter into this world as my mother, my grandmother and their mothers before them did..

My question is, did you get an epidural or did you go all natural? Got any stories and would you do it again the same way or would you do it differently.. I guess I'm just looking for opinions and advice on what the "mamas" think..

I went 100% natural with my daughter no drugs of any kind and it was wonderful!! Painful, but wonderful and I would do it 100 times natural if I had to again!!

I got an epidural. I was induced because of preeclampsia and the contractions were stacked on top of eachother to the point I couldn't breathe at all through them.
Had I been able to go into labor on my own. I would've tried to go all natural.

I got an epidural, but it wasn't working so I had it removed...ended up haing her naturally and it was the best decision I ever made!

I had an all natural birth, not by choice... my doctor was running late and I progressed to quick to have the epidural, but it was the most amazing and painful experience and if I have anymore children I def wanna do it all natural again. I was able to get right up after the birth and walk around with my baby, it was the best.

I wanted an epidural, but since I had chorioamnionitis, they had to induce me at 37 weeks and wouldn't let me have an epidural.

It was THE WORST pain ever. I have broken my leg twice, ruptured my eardrum, torn my ACL, and I thought I had a high tolerance of pain. The pain with my childbirth was almost enough to make me pass out. I couldn't scream, couldn't move, couldn't even talk. It was awful.

NEVER again would I choose to go natural.

Lol...don't mean to scare you, but it was really that bad. Good luck with your decision!

I had an all natural birth and it was worth it

while having contractions I concentrated on an object and IMO it made it so much easier

Induction with pit though tends to be worse then going on your own. I was induced with my son and it was TEN TIMES worse then when I went on my own with my daughter.

If I could have I would never had gotten a spinal *just about same as epi*. It hurt so bad and I still have some pain from it. And I cant let anyone touch me where I got it placed, its a mental thing I know but I still think someone is going to put a needle in there. Freaks me out everytime!

Yes, plus I had the chorio, which was painful in itself. AND back labor. So that's my story. But still, I am going with the epi this time! I don't want any chance of anything even near that pain again.

With my first, my epidural failed. With this child, I would get one right now if it was possible.

I was in too much pain to really appreciate the birth of my son. Before I was to a 2 dilated, my contractions were 2 min apart and continued as such for 12 more hours.

ive been thinking about doing it natural too. it helps im terrified of needles. But i saw my mom get hers (she was having c-section #3) and they hit a nerve and she KICKED the doctor in the junk. Totally unintentional TOTALLY hilarious.

Yeah, I had a ton of complications from my sons delivery because of the spinal I received. Scared me enough to never let anyone near my back with a needle ever again. So I know how you feel just the other way around. LOL!!
