I had an epi and it was wonderful. It didn't hurt going in cuz the contractions hurt so bad that I didn't notice!! I have had no pain from the injection spot or anything. I would say it took about an hour for it to wear off and I could walk and stuff. Whatever works for you momma!!

Lmao. Yeah, it's something I've been thinking alot about since we're getting close and closer.. Little over 6 weeks.. AHHH! Thank you all for your input and stories and such.. Such a hard decision.. Has anyone been set on not getting and epi and caving anyhow? I was kinda gonna play it by ear.

I was going to go natural but still open to the idea of an epi. I was induced with Pit and my contractions were horrible! I didn't get my epi though until I was in tears at 6 cm. I just couldn't do it anymore. It was the best decision. My only issue was that I had third degree tearing and an episiotomy. That was the most painful part to me. Good luck and easy labor dust to you!

I've actually had one of each. With my first I was planning a natural childbirth until I was induced for pre-e. My doctor got me so worked up about how painful it was going to be with the pit, that I opted for it. After hitting 3 cm I asked for the epi and the anesthesiologist ended up being tied up in an emergency c-section. He didn't end up showing up until 2 hours later. After they got it in they flipped me over and I was ready to push...needless to say, I decided then and there that I would be able to do it without meds no matter the situation next time since I had gone through the worst (transitional labor) without.

My 2nd came on his own timeline at 39 weeks 2 days. I had a completely natural labor with a new doctor and SO preferred my 2nd experience to my first. I was able to walk around the whole time and just had a great experience! I vote natural!

i had an epidural with my son & it didnt work so i had to have stadol to knock me out. & yet that still didnt really work. it knocked me out but i still felt the pain. but now from the epidural i have bad back pain, 13 months later. but with this 2nd baby, im going to really try & go natural, but idk we'll see. contractions are a bitch!!!

I never felt my contractions...if my water hadn't broke I would have had no idea I was in labor...I was dilated a 6 when I go to the hospital my contractions were 30 seconds aprt...but I never felt them

oh & also, when it came time tp push, i couldnt hold my own legs up, i actually couldnt even move myself at all from the waist down. i was yellin at the nurse cuz she kept telling me to hold my legs up lol. i couldnt at all tho i was soo pissed. so my mom & sis in law had to hold them up while i pushed haha.

damn! well i got induced. & my water broke on its own but i had no idea that it did because i didnt have that "gush" of water. the nurse couldnt even tell if it was my water or not. and suprisingly there wasnt even any water on my hospital bed.

I had to have an epidural for the labor cause i was induced and pain came too quickly and more painful than normal. But they had to take off the meds during the birth. So birth was painful as all hell.

This time around I don't want to be induced, not again. Too painful. I'd have an epidural through the labor, but I'd have a natural birth.

LOL when I got to the hospital, I had water running down my legs...they had to follow me with a mop EVERYWHERE i went seriously...it was embarrassing. They had toput those things under me to (like what you put under kids who wet the bed) catch the water and they changed them 17 times during my 10.5 hours labor lol...I leaked water until she was out of me LOL

yea i dont want to be inducd this time either..i want everything to come on natural & by itself, when its time. i think that with my 1st i was just so anxious & excited to have him out that i wanted to be induced. lol
