re: Giving birth with baby still in the amniotic sac?

posted 7th Nov
My daughter was born in her sac. I had my water broken with both my sons and for me the contractions got so much more intense and i started to panic a bit. For my daughter i had a waterbirth and the transition stage i barely felt at all. It was a much more natural process that things bing interfered with by doctors. I only pushed twice and out she popped. They broke the sac before i picked her up out of the water.. I loved that my hands were the first to touch my baby..

the reason they break it most of the time is to speed up the labour. but if your happy to wait and give your body enough time to do it on its own then you can ask for them not to break it. The birth center where i had my daughter dont even do internals as routine. I had to ask for one to know how far dilated i was..

I'm definitely going to keep my options open if my water don't break on it's own. Cause that seems like a wonderful experience.
