Becoming a Registered Nurse.

I want to start school in Fall, and becoming an RN.

I just want to know some of the experiences I may be expecting, What Other mama's went through.
Basically, How long did it take you to get where you are now?
What are the Pro's and Con's of being a RN?

It is HARDER THAN HELL.
Believe me. Your life will be dedicated to that program.

Here the program is 2 years. I finished one yr and switched my major (i just chose something different.)

ive heard its hard from a few friends. Most of them started and ended up switching their major...I have one friend though thats almost done! and shes very excited. O and BTW i LOVE your avi!!!!!!!

mmmm I wanted to be a RN for awhile.

Cant go into detail about schooling but I can give you my pros and cons list from when I was thinking of it.

PRO:
the money is good
2year program
would always be able to find a job


CON:
would have to work hollidays
wouldnt be able to watch my daughter get on the bus then be there when she got off because of hours.
would always have to work under other people
I wouldnt have a close relationship with my clients
I would have to work 30+hours a week to make money
it can be a stressful as fuck job.
tooo much blood shit piss sickness...

yep! my friend thats almost done did while she was pregnant and she just had a baby girl! So now she has a good job lined up for her!

you can always be a part time nurse. There nursing homes that love part time nurses. I use to be a cna and saw a few part time nurses. even hospitals have part time nurses

But some people dont mind that. I personally want my career to circle around MY LIFE and MY WANTS not my life circle around my career.


MY dad is an RN and makes great money. He has enough experiance to get a great job and he gets to pick his hours but it sucks that he has to work weekends and hollidays. Even as a fill in nurse they make him work a holiday or 2 a year.

Im in the Rad tech program now.
I love it, 3 day weeks, GREAT money, Can choose hours mostly. I love it.
