preterm labor possibly?

posted 7th Nov
okay this is gonna be all over the place so sorry if it's hard to understand!

i've been having cramping now for about 2 hours or so. i noticed that my back did hurt a little bit but that could have been because i was lifting groceries (they weren't too heavy but still) i called the on-call doctor and he said to wait a little while and if it dosen't go away then go into l&d. they haven't gone away but i'm not sure if i should go in or not. i'm not completley doubled over in pain, just uncomfortable. i haven'thad anyBH contractions that had any pain, just tightening. butwhat's making me think that this isn't just BH is that my stomach isn't tightening, just cramping. also, i have a slight touch of nausea that could or could not be related, not really sure.basically what i'm trying to figure out through this ramble is when should i go get checked out and is this a possibility of pre-term labor? if so, what will they do to me once i go into l&d. first pregnancy to get this far, so i'm pretty nervous. thanks for the help and sorry about the rambling and unorganized thoughts!

I would go get checked.
sometimes you can be contracting and not necessarily feel it.
the cramping though i would say is contractions if they have any pattern to it....

please go get checked to make sure its not pre-term!

To be honest, that sounds enough like my preterm labor with my last daughter for me to tell you to go to L&D. They'll just hook you up to some moniters to check your baby's heart rate and to see if you're having any contractions. Better safe than sorry.

Well if you are unsure trust your instincts it is better to be safe then sorry. You do not always have contractions the pain like the cramping could be a sign. If you go up to L&D they will hook you up to monitors to see if you are contracting and then they will check for dialtion and effacement and then they will check your cervix again later to see if there is a change with your cervix it is the only way to know for sure if it is really labor. Good luck! Hope everything goes well!

i haven't noticed any pattern, mostly just cramping straight through so that's one of the things thats making me think that it might not be labor. i think i'm gonna end up going to get checked i'm just so nervous though! i hate hospitals!

thanks everyone! i'm gonna leave in a few minutes to go get checked out. if it is pre-term labor, they'll most likely stop it right? because 32 and a half weeks is too early! i want her to bake a little longer!

Yes, if it's at all possible, they will stop labor at this point. Good luck! :No labor vibes:

idk...i was up all last night with cramping and tightening every 3-4 minutes rain or shine. they were lasting 45 seconds and completely knocking the wind out of me they were so strong and painful. i felt extremely nauseous, weak and shakey too. i remember having a lot of incidents like this with my last baby, so i try to stay home and see how things pan out before i go into L&D. i'm still contracting now, but they have spaced and i'm feeling a little better. doesn't hurt to get checked though and esp if you are early. you want them to catch it in time to stop labor. GL mama! it'll be the real deal and right time frame soon enough
