she's in the spacial care nursery

and she's just a day old.... my friend just had her baby, and she's in the special care nursery. i live in a very small city, (i consider it a large town... but whatever) and we have a niceish hos. but it's only level two trauma in ob. that means we don't have a nicu, we're a step before nicu. (nicu's cover the worst to the best btw. compared to a nicu, the cases they handle are the non critical cases. cases that are not immediately bad, or less than 32 weeks premature)
but my friend just had her baby and she has a feeding tube, umibicial iv, on oxygen, and she's on anti boitics.
she had her baby almost 2 weeks after me, our kids are suposed to grow up together and be BFFs forever and crap. her baby was suposed to be just as healthy as mine, and she's a new mom, scared, and unsure, so she could use some prayers, or at least positive thoughts to her and her baby. i really hope that she can take her baby home when she gets discharged (the mom). the mom's name is Jessica and the baby's name is Gwendolynn (qwen-da-lynn). gwen was born weighing 7lbs, 7 ozes, at 21 3/4 in long. at almost exactly 3 pm friday. i'll post a pic later once i find my damn phone, if anyone would be willing could you make a siggy for her? then let me know how to send it in a message (like myspace or facebook.....)

do you know exactly why gwen is in the special care nursery? i know you said shes on a feeding tube and iv and oxygen but what happened to her? i hope for the best for the momma and baby gwen. i will be praying for them

she's breathing to fast, like a person who is having a panic attack, but it won't stop, making it harder for her body to get oxygen, and making it extremely hard for her to latch on and eat.....
i imagine it will get better soon, but sooner is perfered to later....... i remember how it felt having to leave without my twins, and i don't want her to go throu that..... she acts tough, but you could see how confused, lost and scared she was,

oh my goodness that is terrible!! i definitly hope she and baby gwen make it out fine and can come home as soon as possible. thats gotta be extremely hard for her

she's home now! yea! they kept her two days after her mother was discharged. and they refused to beleieve that the baby was not handling formula, (her mom was tring to pump but that night she couldn't send over the next supply) so she threw up, and her family has a history of simalac intolerance (each kid throwing upfrom even a single bottle)
but they refused to hear her.
i swear, the second you kid is sent to the special care they seem determined to stop you from breast feeding. right now mom and baby are struggling to breastfeed, after the hospital prevented her from breast feeding long story...

well im soooooo glad shes home but ugh that sucks that shes having breastfeeding problems. i definitly wish her all the luck with everything!!
