SIDS

Today is exactly one month since my baby passed away from SIDS...

This girl IMed me on myspace and started asking me all these questions..,it actually annoyed me.. I know i cant expect people to know... but Ima just make a post rather than exploding...

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT SIDS:

SIDS is SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROM

SIDS can happen anywher from birth to 1 year and even 2 years. Two months to 8 months are the highest numbers of SIDS cases.

SIDS is absolutely NOT preventable!

The reason there are all these risk factors on SIDS to avoid to.. is NOT to prevent SIDS from happenig... its so that there would be no accidental suffications or any accidents of that sort, which sometimes can be mistaken for SIDS.

If SIDS is going to happen.. its going to happen... there is nothing that can stop it from happening..

If a baby stops breathing due to SIDS, even if caught in time... the child wont be revived...

SIDS is a monster that we have no control over what so ever....

It is NOT PREVENTABLE.... not yet at least

We cant expect other people to understand honey....
Only other moms who have lost a child would be able to understand what we feel.
Alot of them mean the best, and they dont understand that they are hurting us.

As a mom it's hard to accept that theres nothing we can do to stop something like SIDS, I think that's one reason why it's questioned to death. I don't understand what your going through but am so sorry for your loss.

i must disagree.. i started thankin God for my son through out my whole pregnancy and after.. i believe God had a different plan for him all along.... so... once the book is written...thats it..

I agree. I was very thankful for my son...he was my life, and he still was taken away from me.
