39 weeks Monday.. being induced.

Okay.. so I have an appointment on Monday at 1:15pm to check my dilation. Last Monday I was dilated to almost 2... the doctor said if I'm dilated more than 2 then I'm scheduled to be induced Tuesday morning at 7am... if I'm not dilated more then Monday night she's giving me Cervidil and then inducing me Tuesday morning. I'm really nervous and scared that the Cervidil won't work because I've read all kinds of crap about it not working. Anyone else had this done?

Nope, why are they inducing you before your due date though??!! I'm jealous!!

I was admitted to the hospital at 5am on 10/4/07 and they gave me cervidil. I can tell the it was thinning my cervix because I had lots of nasty stuff dripping out when I would stand to go to the bathroom. but I never dialated. I was still one cen. so they gave me pitocin at 6 am the following day and Trey was born at 11:43 am.

lol she's inducing me early because the baby is supposedly huge... and I'm 4'9" and small and haven't held down food since I was 30 weeks... I haven't gained any weight in almost 2 months.

I had it done with both my kids, first one because I was leaking off and on, second one because my water had been broken for 14 hours with barely any contractions. With my first baby it worked right away and then died off by the next morning but then later that day I went into labour on my own. The doctor said that might happen tho because only having one round sending you into labour is very rare. Usually it takes 3 rounds of the gel. With my second she was born 2 hours and 48 min from the time the gel was applied. So the second time it worked very well and continuously. Oh and with the first one I was only a figer tip dilated when the applied it and with my second I was a 3-4 already.
