super long period, ovulation?

im not TTC, but i was just wondering about when i would ovulate, just because it seems like something i should know about my own body, and this seemed like the best place to post this.

so im on ortho tricylin, and have been for a couple months. each month, i get a regular period, and then a couple weeks later, get a SECOND period that lasts around 2 weeks. (sucks, i know!)

1.) if im gettin two "periods", would i be ovulating after the more normal period?
2.) or am i not ovulating at all because i get another period so soon after?

You are not supposed to be ovulating at all if you are on the pill - that is how it prevents pregnancy... Have you talked to your doctor about the pattern of your periods? When I was on the pill, I only got 1 period every 28 days and it came like clockwork.

i talked to her about it when i was on my last pill, because i had so much bleeding with the last pill i went to the hospital because i thought i was hemmoraging. (SP)

i plan on calling her on monday to see what she can do.its just a pain in the ass.
