The civil war was about economics, actually. If the slaves were any other race it still would've been the same. It was about cheap labor and people who didn't want to pay extra for "legitimate" labor. Same thing is going on now with illegal Mexican immigrants.

Anything you say about race can be taken into a "racist" context depending on who is listening.
