Want to eat healthier

posted 7th Nov
but don't know how??>.

I found this awesome website....
http://www.fruitsandveggiesmatter.gov/index.html

You can put what veggie you want to cook and than it will pop up with a bunch of recipes .....Interesting thing I learned was that DH and I are not spending enough each week on groceries. Its true. We spend 70 bucks a week, but we buy barely ANY fruits or veggies.....We should be spending double that...SO this week, I am going to experiment

We spend less than that... but we don't have money to spend any more than that... it's hard, because we have the same problem with veggies and eating healthy.

I only spend $70 a week. But we eat a large serving ofveggies at each meal. I plan every meal and only buy the fruits and veggies that are in season.

I think so lol. I shop at a organic co op and don't spend that much. And the co op can be costly. Do you buy local grown/whats in season? It tends to be much less. We also hit the local farmers market and get some good deals there.

I spend about $100/wk on groceries and we stockpile on vegetables and we buy about $15 in fruit each week.

I prefer frozen vegetables, so that helps. Usually at Kroger, you can get a bag of frozen for about a $1...so I buy about 10 of those a week. Our family loves the california blend of veggies, so we eat that the most. As for fruit, we always buy bananas and apples as well as a rare fruit like mangos/blueberries etc every once in awhile. I get my servings of veggies everyday, but fruit - not so much. I don't like to eat it, so I usually get my vitamin c from a daily supplement. Addy, on the other hand, will eat apples like they are going out of style and whatever veggies I put in front of her.
