Damn You Daylight Savings Time...

posted 7th Nov
So Lacie has been waking up an hour early since last week. At 515am every day since. She usually wakes up at 615 cause we work, but I really don't have it in me to do an hour early and especially on the weekends (it's bad enough she gets up at 6).

Any thoughts on how to get her "normal" again? Please don't tell me 515 is her new normal!!

Have you been putting her to bed "later"?
Try adjusting it by 15-30 minutes a night til she gets it.

We hadn't tried that, but last night she went to bed at 9 instead of 8 and still woke up at 511 (it's been like clockwork 511 everyday for the last 4 days). We didn't follow her normal routine last night, though, so that probably didn't help.

That really sucks. I go to bed by 10 every night (many nights earlier than that). I can't imagine if I was up later than that.

You poor momma! I rarely EVER see 6am let alone 5am! I have saw 6:30am twice this week however... once to go visit my brother and another to babysit my friends newborn... but that was it...

Luckily the time change hasn;t bothered koty... it actually helped her get back up earlier... insted of sleeping till 11-noon she gets up around 9-10 now! Which is much better...

Just try to keep her up a little longer... and stick to bedtime schedule and hopefully just hopefully it wont be her new wake up time! Good luck momma!

Thanks!! An hour really shouldn't seem like that big a deal, but it kills me in the mornings. I've accepted that weekends will never be time for sleeping since Lacie is so used to getting up early to go to my MIL's while me and daddy work. I really don't think I can do 5am regularly, though. I just don't think she is needing as much sleep as she used to. She even skipped her nap this morning and still acts perfectly happy and cheerful. Ugh, less resting time for this poor exhausted momma!!

BTW-I saw your new tattoos and they are awesome. Make sure you post final pics. I still plan on getting one (or 2 now that there is another baby on the way ). Problem is you can't get the pregnant or nursing and lord knows when I'll be done with both. Someday...

She will adjust eventually -- my dd was a 7-7:30 waker upper (which is awesome) and since the time change started getting up at 6 (or even 5:45). Gradually, she's been sleeping in a little. I noticed the same pattern when she was an infant as well during the tiem change. takes about 1-2 weeks for my daughter to adjust, but they do adjust!

I get up at 5:30 or 6 anyway, but I like LO to sleep till 6:30-7:00 so I can get derssed and have a coffee!
