Did anyone hate any of your baby names?

My family and my bf's family are really happy we had a girl, they actually liked the name we picked, Morgan Rae. If we had a boy his name would have been Damien Jay. Our families went apeshit when they heard that. NOBODY likes the name Damien and it's all because of the "The Omen". I thinks thats the stupidest thing I ever heard. They threatened to call him D.J., over my dead body. So, if I ever had a son his name will STILL be Damien but with a different middle name. I like Alexander (my bf's middle name) and Bryan likes Logan.

That's crazy! If I have another girl this time her name will be Devyn Rae! I had never heard of anyone else using "Rae" as a name for a girl!  

As for your question, we had the same situation with sydney! My parents LOVED our girl name.....Sydney Jane, but HATED our boy name.....Mekhi Keith. My mom and brother said if we named him Mekhi that they'd call him Mickey!

My dad still doesn't call my oldest by his first name most of the time.
In the Left Behind series "Nicolae" was the devil on Earth.....
He's okay with just calling him "Nic" though, but usually he just says "your boy."

My family hates the name Isla. But I don't give a shit. My DH and my children love the name. They hate it cause they think it's going to be mis pronounced a lot which may be true. But if people actually looked at it they would see how similer it is to Island or Isle.

Rae was my godmother/aunt's middle name and she passed away in 2007 so thats for her.   and i like the name Mekhi!

My dad hates Tristan's name. He even sent him a halloween card that said Max on it since thats what he wants us to name him   he said Tristan Von Brinker sounds like a nazi name lol

My little brothers name is Ethan, I dont see how my dad hates Tristan since its similiar

OT: Morgan Rae is my cousin's name!

Eddie and I could not agree on a girl's name... and my mom hated everything I suggested... we still can't agree on a girl's name even now.

Yup when my oldest was going to be another theodore in the bd family line they were pissed and claimed they would call him Nathan yup not even the same name or same idea as theodore just plain nathan so I fought as hard as I could to have his bd not make me name him after him and thank god I didn't name him that lol my family still calls him nater tater as a joke though lol and my lil girl will be lana rae lol guess rae is more popular than I thought

I, too, think of the Omen.. BUT! This is your baby!! I was pressured by my parents to name my daughter something THEY wanted almost 10 years ago. They wanted Madisonor Madeline... I gave in and named her Madelyn. I like her name but it isn't the name i had picked. SO, when I had my son (he'll be 2 in Jan.) my husband and I decided on the name Flash... LOL and his brother is due in Jan, 2010 and we are naming him Furio... My P's are having a heart attack! ahahahaha! I don't care who likes the names we picked....we love them!!!

It does flow well with a lot of names! That's probably why.

No one liked my daughter's name, Vaida Jade. Even her dad hated it. BUT, I stuck with what I wanted... and eventually it grew on everyone.

Apparently both of our families thought that the name "Mekhi" was "too black"....Granted I've never met a white "Mekhi" but hello! My kid is going to be 1/2 black!
