Most people think it's pronounced eye-la. LOL It never even occurred to me that it actually could be pronounced that way also when I named her.

And that is why I didnt spell Isla's name Ayla.
I thought about it. And Aila.
But I didnt want to be that confusion between
A-la and Eye-la.

Now the only thing we SOMETIMES get is "Iz-la" but that's pretty rare. Most people get it when we say... no, like Island, the S is silent.

Oddly enough it's my son's name that is most often mispronounced. Only by Japanese people though. His name is Levi but they always say it Lev-eee with a long E rather then the I.

I did have one American guy at the hospital tell me I was mean because I named my son after a brand of jeans, LOL.
