how do you feel?

How do you feel about grandparents being able to spank your child?! Feed back please.... My hubby grew up where it was okay for him to be spanked by his parents and grandparents where I did not get hit by my parents never mind my grandparents. I am totally against spanking in general...... Hubby's mom said " if I cant spank my grand kids than don't send them to my house"... Thats just crazy!.

I'm not ok with it. I was spanked by my parents and g-parents. No hard feelings. I just think a good time out would work ok at their house.

Wow that sounds crazy to me! You and your SO should be the only one's to punish your LO like that. Tell them to find another way to punish them and if they don't like it then don't let them watch your LO. It's as simple as that!

My grandma probably would have spanked me if I needed it... I don't think I ever got spanked by anyone, though... I don't think it's right for your mom to say that, but she'll probably get used to the idea of you not spanking, and not wanting her to... sometimes parents are weird when they become new grandparents... my parents are weird in other ways.

I dont like my MIL anyways...so that FINE! lol..

but no... I don have kids yet but I will not allow my mom or DH's mom to spank them..

thats what I say... I can imagine how angry I would be if I found out someone else put their hands on my child! Hes 11 months, and hes walking, and he is into everyyything. I am afraid that if I let him go to her house that she will spank him, and at this age I would never know. Hes only been to her house like 2 times without me since hes been born, and that last time he slept over he cried all night!  

Nope, not okay with it. I can never recall getting hit or spanked by my grandparents, we got a time out or our toys taken away for awhile.

my kids grandparents will spank if they need it while in their care.

Its not my mom, its my hubbys mom. My mom does not believe in spanking children.

Definitely not okay! Parents should and need to be the disciplinarians to their own children. I'd be pissed if either of our parents said that to me

You shouldn't be spanking him at 11 month's old anyways! He's a baby and doesn't know any better. I could see if he was 2 and understood that he was doing something that he shouldn't be but not at 11 months!

I don't spank him, and never will. I believe that other forms of discipline work just as effectively. I don't need to inflict pain on my child to teach him a lesson.

I feel the same way, I could never lay a hand on my child, That was just an example lol I'm sorry if it sounded bad or something.

My grandma used to take a switch to me when I was "bad". She made my grandpa spank me once and as soon as we were in another room, he looked like he was about to cry and said "I'm so sorry" before he hit me.

My mom never spanked me, she would call up my dad to come by and he'd either spank the shit out of me or put soap in my mouth.
