How much was your baby taking?

posted 6th Nov
At about 2 months of age, how much formula was your LO taking? My pedi said for my LO to not have no more then 5oz every 2-3 hours and he wants MORE then that.

About 1 oz. per hour...
my baby is almost 3 months and takes about 4.5 oz every 3-3.5 hours. At night, he takes more-- about 6 oz and then sleeps for 5-6 hours....

My LO seemed to want more but when we gave her more she just spit it up.

My son (2 months) takes 4 to 5 oz every 3 to 4 hours during the day. At night he takes a bottle around 10 and sleeps till 6 or 7. Most nights.

My pedi said "try" not to go over 5oz. She said also try giving him an oz of water in between because it doesn't give them weight they can just let that out.
They said try doing things in between to get his mind off of it. My SO's Aunt, cousin and I were trying everything today. He was literally screaming until he got the bottle. My SO's aunt even suggest cereal because it would fill him up a little bit more. He sucks it down like its plain formula.

At 10 does he take the same (4-5oz) amount of formula? I'll give Alec his bottle at around 11PM and its 5 oz and he'll be back up at around 2-3. He's not a huge sleeper. He'll be up ALL day. 1 nap for a half an hour and STILL gets up during the night. My pedi said hes just an active baby.

Your pediatrician said to give the baby water instead of formula..and to try to distract him from wanting to eat? Thats the most bizarre thing I've ever heard!

My LO is also two months old. She is drinking 5oz every 3 hours, except for at night she sleeps for about seven hours

See all pedi have different opinions. Truthfully I don't like my pedi and the other one around here she has WAY too many patients and its hard to get an appointment and my aunt told me she deals with so many kids she doesn't take the proper time to check the babies right.

I tried the cereal twice and I stopped because what was it really helping? Nothing. Its only going to make him overweight. It didn't FILL him up how people say it "should". I was skeptical about it in the beginning anyway. I just wish there was something I could do to get him full.
