Does he burp everytime? He might be fussy because he has colic..maybe try an extra ounce...My LO whines everytime shes finished eating,,but when she eats more she spits it up..

He burps like CRAZY. I mean some of his burps are louder then mine! And I can burp, haha. I'm just gonna have to. I have been. I can't sit there and know hes hungry and not give it to him. I just can't. My pedi just gonna have to deal.

Pedi's are always adding shit to the "factors for SIDS" list.

It's getting so ridiculous now. I've been told to give my son water since 4 months old....he's alive lol

Feeding him cereal early on isn't a sure-fire doomsday into overweightness. Do what's best for your kid though.

hmmm that's so strange! My pedi says NO WATER before 6 months! Babies get enough water from breastmilk and formula and if they're hungry, you should only give them milk before 6 months of age. I read a book that also said the same thing. Then again, my mother and mil always try to get me to give my son water. They think he gets dehydrated lol.

lol Yea, that is pretty nuts. I was told no juice unless constipated before 6 months, but water was fine (like one - two ounces a day).

I dunno, I listen to doctors advice, I sometimes read the books and such, but overall, we have to do what we think is okay in the end.
I was afraid at first about so much stuff...
Laying on the tummy causes SIDS, blankets causes SIDS...higher room temp than 68 causes SIDS....
I think it's just crazy how much they try to pin on SIDS. It's SUDDEN Infant Death Syndrome with no known cause to pinpoint and eliminate.
20 - 30 years ago, our parents were told to lay us on our tummies to prevent SIDS, now it's just the opposite.
I wish docs would just be straight up with us instead of being so confusing and contradicting.

My daughter usually eats 4oz. every 3 hours or so. At first my pedi said they should be eating the equivalent to 1oz per hour, but when she went for her 2 month appointment, the doctor said that if she is showing signs of hunger still after she's eaten 4oz then give her and oz. or 2 more. My pedi and everyone else I've ever talked to has always said that babies don't just eat to eat, and when they are full then they will stop eating, so feed them.

Thank all you mamas that replied! I understand your suppose to listen to your pedi for all needed problems, but I'd take the advise from a real mother before the pedi. She says whats in the books, not what in real life. My pedi doesn't even have children of her own.

my lo drinks 5oz every 4hrs, and then she goes to bed at 10pm and wakes up at 6am, at that feeding she takes 6oz.

I still can't get my LO to sleep that long. Any advise on that?

My LO will be 2 months next week and he eats between 4-6oz at every feeding and then he usually goes to bed from 7:30-12 or 1ish, he'll have about 4oz at that feeding then he will sleep until 5 or 6ish. I wish he would sleep longer too! We just got him on acid reflux meds so hopefully he will sleep longer!

I'll put him down at 11, he'll sleep til about 1. He gets back up. Eats and sleeps until I'd say 3. Right back up. Every 3 hours hes up.
