How many cm dilated were you when you got it?

What is the ideal range? I know the upper limit is 7 cm... lower is like 3 or 4?

I was 5 with both pregnancies.

I was about 3.... but I ws induced and on pic, too

The first time I was 5 CM and the second time nearly 7.

7-8CM ...induced on pit.. to the highest.

They told me I could get the epidural at anytime and I got mine at 8.5 cm.

I was actually a little more than 2. My dr wanted the nurses to wait until I got to 4 but my contractions were horrible. They used demerol a few times but it wore off way too fast so my dr said ok to the epi.

8....i had been begging for it since i'd been stuck at 2 for like 8 hours+. i was shaking so hard by that time they didn't get it in right and i still felt everything... but the average is 3-6 i'd say...

I got mine at 8 cm, and it didn't work. At all. lol.

I was 5 my doctor want me to get it before I was in horrible pain. The epi was worse then my contractions. I don't want it again.

I was at a 2-3 cm..

They told me to get it, that maybe it would make me relax=dilate more with it..

I was 4, but my hospital (kaiser) doesnt actually have a lower limit at all. As long as your contractions are in a steady enough pattern to be considered active labor, they allow you have the epi whenever you want. You could be 1-2cm and still get it. I was 4 because they used the balloon to get me there (induction) so I opted to get the epidural before they started the pitcocin.

i had hardcore full blown pitocin to the highest induced BACK LABOR!!! horrible...and i was super pissed when it didn't even work....

i was almost 4. but it sucked kuz it wore off by the time i was 8 so i kinda delivered more to the natural side. it wasnt that bad though. but i take pain really really good.
