Aubree Madelyn Is Here

I am Rebekka, Amy's sister. She asked that I update some people on here (and facebook of course lol).
Earlier today Amy was called into her dr's to talk about lab results, and to check her blood pressure (she had been on bedrest since just before 32 wks due to high blood pressure). So while at her appointment, her dr took her BP and it was 187/118   So in for an emerg c-section she went.
Aubree Madelyn Johnson was born at 4:19 pm weighing in at3lbs 12ozjoining big sister Brynnley and big brother Noah. She was born just a couple days shy of 35 wks.
The hospital is on lock down due to H1N1 so no one is able to visit Amy or Aubree (except her husband Tyler). Looks like Aubree will be in hospital a while yet since she is not able to breath on her own

Congrats to your whole family. How is your niece doing? Your sister and her baby girl will be in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know your sister, but Ihad a preemie and I was thankful of any of the prayers I got when my baby girl was born.

My c-section was ROUGH! I dont think I have ever vomited and bled so much in my life   Since I was so sick afterwoods, they made me wait a horrible 6.5 hrs later till I could see her   Luckily they let my husband stand by her side.
Aubree is doing good. Still not able to breathe on her own, but drs said that ina week they will do another chest x ray and see where it goes from there. I am pumping all I have (no milk yet, but hopefully soon), so Aubree is getting that plus formula. Hopefully soon I will be able to breast feed her, but she looks so tiny Im so scared to touch her   I hate seeing my baby like that   I can't help but feel like it is all my fault. . hopefully she will grow and improve so I can take her home soon

First of all I want to say congrats on your little girl! Is she on a ventilator? Its rough seeing them like that. Hopefully they will let her start breastfeeding soon, I think its 35 weeks gestation that they have their suck, swallow, breathe reflex down, just don't get too discouraged if she doesn't take to it right away. I had a 27 week preemie and we started BFing at 35 weeks (see above), it was either 35 or 36 weeks, and it did get discouraging when she wouldn't latch. I wish you the best of luck with Aubree!
