posted 6th Nov
How do you know when your child is ready for a toddler bed and when they are how do you keep them from pulling everything out of the dresser drawers?

We putsafetylocks on her dresser drawers. Like cabinet locks. She is 20 months and still in her crib. But she is napping in her twin bed, so it is a start.

My son is almost 13 months old and is in a toddler bed now because we are trying to break the co-sleeping habit. i THINK they make something to keep your drawers closed similar to the things they make for kitchen cabinets.

I'm guessing When they start trying to climb out of their crib? And about the dresser drawers... idk! When koty's ready for a toddler bed we're gonna have to put a baby gate up to the steps so that she doesnt manage to fall down the steps or anything like that! But all we have to do is take off one of her side bar thingy's...

We switch our daughter to a toddler bed at 18 months. As for keeping them from pulling out toys/clothes I'm not much help. Our daughter stays in bed and goes to sleep unless she need something she will get me or her daddy.

how is he doing with it? My son is 14 months but I'm not ready to move him quite yet because he still sits and whines when he goes to bed sometimes...

a lot better than he was in his crib! we put him to sleep in our bed and then transfer him to his own bed. the past few days he sleeps in his bed till about 6am (it can vary) and then he'll roll into our bed. we have our beds side by side so he still feels close to us but we also have our own space. when we used to try to put him in the crib,he'd start screaming the second he touched the mattress.

well we leave him in there for a few minutes until he fallsasleep a lot of the time because he doesn't sleep with us so I don't think he'd stay in bed if we just had the toddler bed right now
