smoking while pregnant?

ok i have heard two things!
1. if you are a smoker and u find out you are pregnant, it is better to ween yourself because if you quite cold turkey it could hurt the baby

2. quit cold turkey

ladies ladies! what should i do!! 

I quit the second I found out I was pregnant and my pregnancy has been fine no complications or anything I would quite cold turkey

If you find out early enough, quit cold turkey. It is people that smoke into their 2nd and 3rd trimester that doctors suggest to wean.

if you arent too far into your pregnancy id quit cold turkey.

I smoked through the whole pregnancy...only a few a day...my OB didn't have a problem with it.

QUIT!!! its a total myth about smoking is better if u already smoked... its something smokers use as an excuse lol

I quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant. The reason they say you should ween is because they say that the baby can withdrawl the same as the mother does....if you are early enough- which im guessing is the case if you just found out- it will not affect the baby. Smoking can do damage at any stage so it's better to just quit right now. and kudos to you for quitting!!!

your not too far into your pregnancy its not going to hurt to quit cold turkey, now I was 6 1/2 months and was told to cut back, and not even quit totally by my Dr. Good luck

your babys lungs probably did at the time. lol.

yum.. cold turkey. No really, whoever told you that crap about "weaning" was obviously an addict, lol. Every bit of smoke you inhale goes to your baby. Withdrawal from cigarettes is not so bad that it will harm your baby-- definitely not near as much as inhaling all the crap in cigarettes.. And before I start sounding all high and mighty, I smoked for several years-- before and after pregnancies.. I just quit immediately when I found out with my daughter and when we started trying for my son.
