Breastfeeding.

Okay, i had my son on OCT13TH2009 & ive been pumping and storing milk (because of his gastrochisis) & im barly producing any milk WTH? is this normal?

ive been drinking fluids .. ive probably had 1 cup of wine for my husbands and i anv thats all  

Are you just pumping or is he eating and your pumping too? He could be hitting a growth spurt and eating a lot more. That happend to me. Keep at it, your body will catch up  

eat some tuna or salmon!
it will help (hopefully) with milk production

He's in the hospital . . so i pump & just store . .
when i pump barley anything comes out.

Aw.. sometimes pumping alone just doesnt cut it.. dont give up though! Even if your milk supply is low and you have to suppliment with formula, you can always switch back to exclusively breastfeeding when he gets out!   DONT GIVE UP!!!!

My mom told me (and she has breastfed 6 kids) that pumping has a different type of suction then what the baby is sucking so when you pump you think your not pumping a lot and the baby isnt getting alot to eat when really he is some women just arent good pumpers I know my mom wasnt with my little brothers but TRUST ME THEY GOT THE MILK THEY NEEDED dont stress it will be okay and rememeber also it does take a couple weeks for the actual milk to come in dont give up!!!

Also make sure your body is getting enough calcuim(sp?)
& make sure your taking in 500 extra calories since you are breastfeeding
