It never hurts to apply for them while you are out of work. The amount you get is based on your income and the size of the household you live in. Just besure to answer as honestly as possible. If they do a suprise audit or check in on you and you lied you can get in serious trouble.

They will ask you a bunch of questions about your income. If you are on disability just let them know I thinkt hey ask you in your application. Search Google for NY state food stamp application it will tell you how to apply.

Yes. He helps support you. You will list your monthly rent, and your utility bills. They will give you an allowance based on what you have left and need for food. Especially while you are pregnant. Don't forget to apply for WIC

Not trying to sound shitty here but you are getting more than most. Be glad that you are getting some kind of help with this economy. Go apply for the food stamps and hopefully they will help put food on the table. Maybe it is time to sit down and figure out what is needed and what can be cut from the budget to save you some money. Things are going to get harder when the baby comes. You will not want to trade it for the world but it just might be time to cut out the extras so that money could be saved.

Good luck

if you go to foodstampshelp.org and use the calculator it will determine if you are eligible and roughly how much you will get if you qualify.

If you have nearly 3 months until the baby arrives I suggest looking for a new place now. That way you can be all set up and ready to go before you have no time or energy to move. I moved when my twins were 5 1/2 weeks old. We had a moving company (hubby is a federal employee and we were transferred) pack up our house for us. It was stressful then. I wish we could have moved before the girls were born. Plus I miss the nursery I made for them. I still own the house but it is 1300 miles away. I wish they could have spent more time in it and we couldhave had time to relax. You could find something cheaper that fits your needs as well!

Cout out cable, drop the cells to the bare min, get rid of the internet and eat out once a month. That should help you greatly on your budget. I made my husband write down where he was spending his money every day. He was rotten with it. When he realized that he was spending foolishly. When he saw it in balck and white it was easier to cut more from his budget and save the difference in a seperate account. Hopefully, this will help you. With the aid of WIC, SSI and Food stamps.
