Candle wax on carpet, Help!

posted 6th Nov
I had a candle lit on my T.V that is on my dresser and when I went to shut my dresser the candle fell, and the wax got all over the carpet and I was wondering if any of you know how to get candle wax out of carpet?

Ice. It will take a while but keep at it. Put an ice cube on it and then pick away, you may need to do it a few times.

I use Resolve: multi fabric.

If it's drying, just let it and try to peel it off after.

  1. Step 1
Pick off as much wax as possible. Use a knife if it helps.

  2. Step 2
Chill the wax with ice to remove more of the excess. Move on to the next step once you can't get any more wax off without damaging the carpet.

  3. Step 3
Lay a paper bag or piece of newspaper over the carpet. Use an iron on the lowest setting to heat the wax. If you don't have an iron you can use a hair dryer. When it melts, the wax will seep into the paper and away from the carpet. Change the paper as needed until all of the wax is absorbed.

  4. Step 4
Apply rubbing alcohol to any areas that are stained with dye from the wax. Use a clean paper towel to wipe off the dye and wax until the towel comes off clean.

  5. Step 5
Rinse the area with clean water. You can use a clean, wet rag or a spray bottle.

  6. Step 6
Dry the carpet immediately to decrease the risk of staining. Use a fan to help speed up the process.

Quoting Trio of girls:“ put newspaper or a paper bag on the floor and place a hot iron on top of it.”

this pulls wax out of anything soft, carpet, blankets, clothes, etc. if its a colored wax though, the color might stain a little bit... but it lets the wax from the heat, and then the paper bag absorbs it while its melted. ive done this a bunch.
