Crib Building

posted 6th Nov
So I feel like I haven't done very much on preparing for my LO to get here and my parents just bought a crib for him. My mother said my father wouldn;t mind putting it together for us... BUT personally I would like to put it together that way I can feel like I did something other than just carry him for 9 months... I know carrying him is a VERY big job that ONLY a mamma can do, but I'm used to doing so much more and I would feel SO accomplished if I were able to put his crib together and later in life tell him "yeah your mamma put your crib together... so basically what I'm trying to ask is... Do you think it would be okay if I took it easy and slow to put his crib together or should I just let my father or Hubbs do it? sorry long rant.

I wouldn't do it pregnant. I'd let someone else do it. I'm kind of lazy though. Why don't you do something easy like the swing or stroller? The crib is no fun.

How about you help them? I don't think you should do it by yourself, imo. I helped my hubs put the crib together... thank goodness he was there cause some pieces I wouldn't have been able to do by myself!

I put my son's together, I also put together an entertainment center that was just mdf board and screws 3 days before I had my first! Nesting, most likely. Take it easy, don't lift much and ask for help if you need.

Just follow the instructions you'll be fine. Althoughit might be easier to do it as a team with your hubs because some of the larger pieces might be harder to balance while you're putting it together.

I did mine all by myself. I had fun doing it too! Then again, I put all his stuff together, because hubs gets frustrated too easily LOL

I built my daughter's crib when I was about 28 weeks along. Had her at 35 weeks.

Thats true especially considering how far along I am , I guess helping out would be better than doing it all by myself... boo but I LOVE handy work haha

SO and I just put our LOs crib together and we about killed each other. Men are frustrating. I would have preferred to have done it myself. But he felt like he just had to help put something together.

We tried not to argue while we did the two cribs, but he always feels like I'm bossing him around when I'm telling him what the instructions say. They think they are so smart they don't need the directions . LOL

yeah my hubbs has little patience for tedious work... but me I love that kind of stuff... I know if I start like I'm doing too much I'll ask for help... but with the Hubbs being in the military an working ALL DAY I though mayb building a crib (even though i know it may be a little strenuous) would be a productive pass time
