Toddler and Veggies

posted 6th Nov
It really boggles my mind that my daughter loves veggies. Normally when you picture kids and nutrition you tend to not really see the two connecting together very well without a bit of trickery from mum and dad.

I didn't even have to tell her to eat her veggies, she wanted a snack before bed so I opened the fridge and she pointed straight to the tomato and said "Mami! Mami! Toma!!" (Tomate is spanish for tomato, she just can't pronounce the whole word)

Here's proof:

Random fact: Tomatoes are technically fruits

That's awesome! My son hates veggies and meats....
Even when I try sneaking them, he picks at it or spits it out

My daughter is like that too, her favorites are broccoli and green beans. It makes me happy though, I just hope that doesn't change, haha.

My oldest was that way, and still is. She will just go in the fridge and get left over green beans for a snack.

It probably won't.
Emma's 2 1/2 and will still choose green beans, tomatoes and broccoli over a cookie. Whenever we go to the Chinese buffet the servers get a good laugh out of her eating habits.

Haha even if I sneak them into foods Emma will pick them out and eat them first. It really is a riot to watch her go digging through her mac 'n' cheese for the hidden green peppers and tomatoes or through her chex for her cranberries.

That gives me hope that it'll last, hehe.
In the last couple of months of my pregnancy I craved veggies SOOOOO bad with Em. I'm already starting to crave them badly now. Sometimes I wonder if that plays a part.
