re: Preparing for Baby...what should I have?

posted 17th Jul '12
Basically bring the necessities you feel you'll need.

-coming home outfit for you and baby
-comfy wear if you feel more comfortable with your own stuff
-Underwear & Maxi-Pads
-Toiletries (toothbrush)
-Baby bag (a couple diapers, some wipes, bum cream or baby powder, receiving blankets)
-Camera

and i personally would have a bottle with you, just in case baby doesn't take to the boob idea right away.

Ahh so true ! When my daughter was first born she would get a little fussy & I would just put her in the swing and she would fall right asleep

If you are preparing for a baby than there are lots of work to do. For a baby planning a complete schedule should be created for baby. One of the task for baby is baby bedding, in the present scenario organic baby bedding is one of the solution for baby bedding, you can opt that according to your baby requirement.

Those vibrating chairs were a must for me. Both of my kids also liked the swings. Anything that keeps your hands free for a few minutes is huge. I remember that even taking a 3 minute shower was a bit of a challenge! Good Luck!

Quoting Kailyn's Mama:" I decided not to get a wipes warmer and one was given to me - I still dont intend on using it. I think ... [snip!] ... Save the money, hold the wipe in your hand for a few seconds to warm it up before wiping baby with it. Just my opinion though."
I got a wet wipe warmer at walmart and there's a little sponge thing on the bottom that you soak in water and place it back under the wipes each time you refill the warmer and my wipes never dried out. The only reason we needed the warmer was because our changing table was near a window and we live in an old farm house, so the wipes would get extremely cold in the winter. Once spring came around we never needed it anymore, but for those cold months it sure made a difference. And my son never reacted different to the wipes at daycare that were room temperature. But again we only used it in the winter months, but I personally felt is was worth the $20.

You can also help prepare the things your wife and baby needs particularly during delivery. As early as 3 to 6 months, you are already gathering dresses, diapers, and other baby needs.
