I had everything when I had my son and found only a few things were neccessary for me, so I limited what I bought this time around.

*Gentle Naturals Tummy Soothers
*Gas drops
*suppositories
*onesies
*sleepers
*large, soft blankets
*diaper rash ointment
*tylenol

I had a brand new swing with my son and never used it. He would rather sleep lying down or being held, so I marked that off this time. I never had a wipe warmer as I heard they dry your wipes out, but I would not know for sure. I just marked it as not neccessary. I even did not use a crib with my son although I had a very nice expensive one so I marked that off this time and opted for a twin matrress and box springs on the floor so baby does not fall far if she should fall (never been a problem with my son). The only things I found useful were those things that baby pushes when they are learning to walk.

Hello Everyone!! You all have helped me sooo much without even knowing it. Im about to have my first and I feel like Im not doing to good. Im kinda worried that Im not prepared or will be able to be prepared for my first Son. My wife and Idon't much nor will we when he comes either. I was just curious to know what you think I should do. I dont want to seem scared because I want to be strong, for my wife and myself. We have clothes but thats about it. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also there wouldnt be anyway for a possible baby shower either because were moving and we wouldnt be knowing any nor have family available for support.
p.s. I hope nobody thinks im wierd for posting on this site as a male I just really need another womans perspective on this and I cant bring up my insecurity of failing to my wife without imposing that on her. Thanks again A PROUD FATHER

Good luck, Proud Father! We are here for you. I know deep down inside my husband is scared out of his mind. When we go to the doctor he always is the one asking all the questions, I can hardly get a word in! Don't worry, you are not alone! We are all worried about being good parents and being prepared! Take care!

muslin squares (i don't know what you call them out there) you can use them as a burping cloth, these are perfect for cleaning up any feeding spills as well...if any of you are having boys, some face cloth or muslin squares just to put on his little thing as soon as you take his nappy off, cause they tend to pee in your face x

Quoting baby boy on board:“ okay a lot of you are saying diapers and wipes. is there a certain brand that is better than the others. also, i've heard that the wipe warmers just dry out the wipes. has anyone had this problem yet?”
Well I havent had my baby yet but my mom used them with my lilttle brother when he was a baby and he is now nine years old lol so they have been out for awhile. But hers never dried out. I think u just have to make sure and keep them tightly shut. Alot of people dont close them all the way and that why!!

Quoting skomula:“ do we absolutely have to have scratch mittens? Because I've been thinking about them non stop for like a week, and I remembered that I didn't put them on my registry...oops.”

Yes you have to have them... The babies always scratch them selfs on the face, and u dont want your little baby running around with scars in his or her face...

They also make clothing that has scratch mittins kind of built in. Try looking for them at babies R Us. I saw some there. It's nice because you fold them back if you dont want to use them.
