Do any of you ladies suggest buying a bassinet, I've hear they can be unsafe unless they have mesh sides? I really want the baby to sleep in the same room as us or I will worry. But if non-mesh bassinets are unsafe, I guess mesh one it is!

Well in my opinion I think that as long as you have the babys supplies stocked, you will be well ready. A sling, is what I perfer for the first few months, that way you have your baby next to you and you can still do things in the house. Mind you, you are supposed to take it easy for the first 6 weeks, so you shouldnt be doing a lot anyway. The other stuff, is just material items that you can get later, or have someone bring them to you. Im just making sure I have the car seat ready, babies diapers, and creams, wipes, bottles, and breast pump. My told me to stock up on recieving blankets and burp clothes, and warm blankets and socks. Also make sure you have a first aid kit, and info about newborns just incase something comes up. I think thats all you really need. Baby only needs you to love him/her So lots of love!!

its because certain companies recalled the ones with cloth sides because if the baby rolls into the side with their face against it, they can die of SIDS. i believe that was awhile ago though.....

I completely agree!!! I bought mine after my son was born to ease my mind and it was well worth the money. only one or two false alarms. I would try to order the one that has 2 sensors that are connected that way it gives the crib more coverage for when the baby starts to roll around. also "swaddle me's" they are perfect

1st is an infant carrier to bring baby home in and an outfit, diaper bag, then @ homelots of onsies, jammies, blankies for swaddling and covering, bottles, nipples, bottle brush, formula, infant water (unless you breastfeed) diapers, wipes, rash creams, gas relief for colic/gas, shampoo/body wash, lotion, socks/booties/hats, crib bumber set or bassinet, bouncer(opt.) I prefer a swing, there are lots of lists for what baby needs are on baby websites if you need more info. goodness babies require soooooooo many things....I still need to get loads of stuff for her......

Well first off you mostly need what they need.
Diapers,bottles,clothes,etc.
As they get older you need more and go through different stages and ages.Yall have great ideas though. As they get older it goes deeper with clothing, school stuff, and more.I have 4 boys and a lil girl due Feb.2,09.This is a question I have heard forever.Which go figure I have a 10,9,4,and 3yearold.Go for whats important then go for the other stuff.
