I know this post was forever ago but in case you have the time to tell me, how did that monitor work out? Was it worth the money?

I registered for one and got it for my shower. I can't wait to use it, it looks so cool. It's like a mini-boppy!

With three kids and too many nieces and nephews to count, this is what I have figured out:
1. We NEVER used the wipes warmer. Save your money.
2. My kids favorite place to be as newborns: infant car seat
3. Some of the kids loved the swing, some preferred the exersaucer, some bouncy seats, some all three. My oldest, at 6 months, would fall asleep in the exersaucer, while my daughter wanted to be in the swing or bouncer. Depends on the baby, but all come in handy if you ever want to get anything done.
4. A bottle warmer that also has a cooler comes in handy if you are expressing milk or if you are formula feeding. I used this with my youngest and we will be getting one again. Great for feeding at night!
5. Pacifiers - some kids WILL NOT use them LOL.My boysrefused them after a few weeks and my daughter would only use the one we got at the hospital. My nieces and nephews, some liked them, some did not. I say only get them AFTER the baby is born and only if the baby actually uses it. We bought several with my oldest and wasted the money.
6. Playpens are great, espically the ones with a bassinet. Easy to move, and you get a lot of use out of them. We take these camping and used it to keep the babies in our room when they were first born.
7. Baby gates for any stairs or doorways!
8. Boppys are great! Good for nursing and as the baby grows. My daughter is 5 and still sits in hers.
9. Teethers! The ones you freeze are great
10. Humphreys 3 teething pills were a lifesaver! You can get them in the pharmacy, you just have to ask. The work for colic and teething and my kids did not even cry when they were teething. They are all natural and were recommended to me by a NP when my oldest was born.

My niece had one when she was a baby and I think it is kind of unnessesary also. Plus whenever me or someone else would babysit, we didnt have one at our home so whenever we would change her diaper she'd cry cuz she was so use to having the baby wipe being warm. Kinda silly to have one but JMO

A lot of my friends told me they bought those and never used them. I wonder if it's just personal preference or what?

I'm pregnant with my first so I can't say much but I do know that my sister told me these things are the most important:

recieving blankets
plenty of crib sheets
swing
bouncer
jump-a-roo
play mat

If you think it will come in handy then buy it! I have sooo much things for my son and he's not even here yet! I always find something I think he will like and I get it! Hope this helped!

Yeah, My Mother in law was given one when she had her babies and she offered to give it to me, but really I just didn't even care about it. I'm all for pampering a baby...but for me, it seemed like a lot of work. I mean for when my daughter was going to be baby-sat and if we were out of the house....Besides, I think normal wipes actually feel quite good on the skin. I find them soothing Haha.
