Yeah, I felt early labor starting, so I took a nap lol. When I woke up it was full blown and I went to the hospital.

i was really calm my whole pregnancy about giving birth and throughout my entire labor... up until they told me i was 10cm. Then i started crying cause i didnt think i was ready. But after an hour of laboring down i was good to go!

I thought at first you meant a few minutes before I delivered. In that case I would have said, HECK NO! I was a crazy woman in the few moments before I had to start pushing. I kept yelling, "No! I can't do it! No no no!" lol. Apparently I could do it since I pushed him out in less than 10 minutes!
As for your actual question, I did notice the morning of the day I went into labour I was quite calm. I had a checkup and when I came home I was resigned to the fact the baby would be overdue. When I started getting back pain I brushed it off calmly and when the actual contractions started I calmly told my hubby I wouldn't be able to make dinner because we had to get to the hospital. He was frantic compared to me. He was rushing around and even at the hospital he kept saying things like, "excuse me, we're having a baby!" or "My wife is in labour" and hopping around like he had to pee or something!
When the pain hit me that's when the calmness left.
Hope I didn't scare you! good luck momma

with my last child, I felt she was going to come early. So, we sent the boys to stay at grandma's for 2 weeks. Since I wasnt worried about who was going to be with my kids, I was pretty relaxed. I was able to get everything ready for the baby, and was ready myself to have her. so when the dr said she'd strip my membranes that day at my appt, I said ok. she did it and I went home to wait for the contractions to regulate. I popped in a movie, sat on the couch and ate popcorn with hubby.. timing my contractions the whole time. then when they were regular, we stopped the movie and left for the hospital. I felt calm and in control. and as far as the delivery, I got the epidural this time after having 2 natural deliveries (I figured since it was my last I should be able to experience the painless bliss of child birth) and I felt nothing. when it was time to push I calmly told the nurses I was ready. then pushed her out in under 10 minutes. it was a wonderful experience being so calm. good luck

I'm not due until February but, I'm not scared. I'm actually looking forward to having him. One part is nervous though because I hate needles and I know those are included in labor. I'm not scared of labor pain though.

I actually did! I went to my OB appointment, i was told I was 3cm and to head to the hospital, but I went home, took a candle lit bath, made a smoothie, watched tv, took a walk with my SO .. la la la. I was okay at the hospital too, I was totally calm. Then I heard, "Hun we're gonna have to do a c-section" and thats when I freaked out! lol.
