re: Medicaid?

Medicaid takes priority to specific categories (ie: low income women & children, pregnant women, etc). The income requirements are different for pregnant women then the others. For PA you can make up to 185% above the poverty line. Also, when you apply, you count as two people (you & baby). So you, your husband, & baby will equal three, thus meaning you'd qualify under a household of 3 (or more if you have other children/residents). So it gives you a bit of li-way income wise. Medicaid even takes women with health insurance already because most do not cover all pregnancy/maternity costs. My old health insurance only covered pregnancy complications. Very rarely do they actually cover anything else besides the basic care. This is why they have more lenient income and other requirements. Apply ASAP.
