"threatened abortion"

i've been bleeding for almost 2 weeks now. I went to the ob when it started and they said it was old because it was dark, and not to worry. I still havn't stopped bleeding went again to the ob tuesday the blood became a little red, they did an ultrasound and couldn't see a baby, just the sac, but said it might be cause it was to early to see anything. I had bloodwork done tuesday also and returned to the ob thursday, the doc said he was surprised my numbers were really good, 7600 or around there, and he wants to see me again monday for another ultrasound and more bloodwork. But i'm still a "threatened abortion", have any of you ladies went through something like this and had a healthy baby? Doc said i'm 85% on the positive side, but it's still 15% possible i'll miscarry  .

I bled early on too brown blood then pinkish and it was on an off for a couple weeks and was fine. Do they have an estimate how far along you are?

usually when you bleed in early pregnancy, they call it threatened abortion. i bled for 3 days at 6-7 weeks with my daughter. she's 5 years old now. you just bleed sometimes while pregnant

I think the words you're looking for is "threatened miscarriage" but I hope everything is ok sounds like it should be   sticky dust

It might be an SCH, or placenta previa...GL usually it turns out fine

I had 3 threatened abortions in my 1 pregnancy.
I had bright red watery bleeding and still went on to have two healthy beautiful girls.

from the date of my last period, i was supposed to be 7 weeks at my first appointment, but the first ultrasound on the same day said i was only 4 weeks and 2 days. According to the ultrasound i'm 6 weeks 2 days now, but they're not 100% sure yet. :/

Its prob still too early to see baby but at 6 weeks we saw gestational sac and yolk sac then at the 7week2day u/s we saw baby and heartbeat. Your prob still early on lots of women spot/bleed early on and have healthy pregnancies.

threatened abortion is just what they put on my papers to go to the hospital to get blood work.

i thought it was harsh too. lol

The doctor said he couln't see a yolk sac or the fetal pole either.  

but when i went thursday to get my blood work results, the women said because of my numbers, "we're going to see it, just not yet".
but the doctor didn't seem so confident.

i had two threatened abortions, and have three healthy busy kids.
at 12 weeks while pregnant with twins i went to the ER with massive bright red bleeding after doing an internal exam, they said that i could be having a misscarriage and to see my ob for an ultrasound.
i had a subchronic hemerogage.
i bled for weeks and weeks. while pregnant. with twins.
they are now very healthy, EXTREMELY active, and happy 20 month old.
my second was with ava, at almost 12 weeks maybe 10, i went to the ER with insane high blood pressure, and massive abdominal cramping. never knew what was wrong.
9 months later i write to you while nursing and yelling at one of other daughters to leave the other alone.

wow, i'm glad to hear all you ladies have healthy babies.  
i'm so glad things turned out ok for you, and i hope i'm as lucky and blessed, as well.

miscarriage is not medically correct. abortion in common socirty is when a woman medically ends a pregnancy before term. medically abortion means when a pregnany is ended prior to viable fetus. aka any end of a pregnancy. before the infant can be saved outside the womb.\
if you go to ER or ob, they will write threate ned abortion. not miscariage.
it's harsh wording, i wish they would change it.

Yep. And if you have a miscarriage, they won't put that on your records. They will write Spontaneous Abortion.
