Do you know if there is any medication that is ok to take to treat it, while you continue breastfeeding?

I'm at increased risk for PPD because I'm bipolar...I'm currently taking Effexor XR (my OB said it was ok to take my normal dose of 150 mg until my third trimester, then I start taking 75 mg a day)...but I'm not sure if I can take it while breastfeeding or not. I REALLY want to breastfeed. I mean, I'm going to try, regardless.

My OB and I had a long discussion about any possible risks associated with my taking my perscription throughout my pregnancy and decided that the benefits for myself AND the baby FAR outweighed the risks. I just don't know anything about breastfeeding after he comes out...

I am bipolar and medicated, and a=i have been breastfeeding for 10 plus months

I take neurontin, geodon, and lorazapam

You may have to switch medications, but for me it is worth it.
