abnormal cervix cells

My 2nd midwife appointment was yesterday and I was so happy to hear my baby's heartbeat for the first time.

They had the results of my pap smear and I have to go back in in 2 weeks to see an OB and get a co-po (sp?) because my cells looked abnormal...
when I got my pap smear I was in so much pain, my eyes were tearingup and I assumed it was just me being a wimp, (since it was my first one ever and I didn't know what to expect) but when I told my midwife I was scared to go have my cervix looked at again she said that it's not supposed to be painful and that maybe that has something to do with my abnormal cells. She described it as 'low grade' though so she said I shouldn't worry too much but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen.

I'm not looking forward to that appointment.

I was scheduled for a calposcopy (sp) but found out I was pregnant and they wouldn't do it till after I had my baby.

I had it done... and I don't think they will take a biopsy like they did me because you are pregnant and it's bad to make the cervix bleed while you are but that honestly did hurt me. Other people say it doesn't hurt at all... but I personally hated it! And I was petrified the whole time. I think all they're going to do is look at your cervix with a light and microscope so you should be fine. I just had my baby girl 6months ago, and I had a pap-smear last month and it came back abnormal and they told me not to go back for another year which is strange to me. But while I was pregnant my pap came back perfect. So I'm hoping this isn't a sign of something worse happening as before I was pregnant I had abnormal pap's twice. But it was always just "mild displasiure"(sp?) but I wish you the best, you should be fine! Just think... labor will be MUCH harder than this little old exam I promise!

I think yeah that's what I'm getting and weird, maybe it's more serious than she made me think.

Wait so I'd bleed from getting one the biopsy? I'm pretty sure I'm not getting that but, yeah she said it was just going to be looked at with the microscope. What is displasia though and is it serious? And Oh man I already thought about that I was like ''How will I handle labor if I can't handle this?!" ha

I know my friend have abnormal cells and it was HPV and another one had it and it turned out to be nothing.

Ahh I'm going to have to just wait out the 2 weeks and find out then.

i had an abnormal pap that was before my first ob appt. they had to do the same thing to me and my hubby went with me and it hurt and i was in pain while they were looking and it worried us but the Dr. told me that it was kinda normal to feel more pain while preggo during a pap than when your not so idk but they told me mine was low grade as well and that my body should take care of it and havnt said anything since then...

Yeah you do bleed from the biospy because they do take a piece of your cervix, they told me I could spot for like two days. It only lasted like that day and was only a couple spots. My doctor told me that Dysplasia is when the cells are slightly bigger than they should be on your cervix and it's nothing to worry about. But if it gets to moderate orsevere dysplasia it may be cancer and surgerys could be needed and things like that. Thanks, I hope I'm ok too. I keep worrying about cervical cancer because of the fact it came back abnormal again but they didn't wanna see me for another year like usual so I guess if they aren't worried I'm not.
