Guilty and BF ?

posted 6th Nov
I feel so guilty. I have been a SAHM . But I have an interview on Wednesday for Sears. I need to get out and about. I only want to work like 2 nights a week and 1 full day on the weekends...I feel bad for leaving Irelynn with daddy. Even though I trust him.

She doesn't take a bottle. So I figure on the weekend when I work a full day, DH can bring her to the mall and I will feed her during my lunch break. If anyone else has had this issue and is doing the same thing I am doing..How'd it work out?...Were they really cranky?

Does she drink froma cup? or sippy? You could pump and put it in a cup.

If she's doesn't take a bottle OR a sippy then this is a disaster waiting to happen.

Ok...

During the week I would only be away for 4 1/2 hours....

On the weekend for 8 1/2...She nurses about every 4 hours...

She will chew on the sippy nipple, but she doesn't know how to suck it....

exactly...

then throw in a) traffic, b) running late, c) having to stay extra at work for unknown reasons, d) cranky/teething/ill baby who wants to comfort latch

She's not going to starve to death. She can learn to use a sippy if she's hungry. I'm sure she also eats other foods, or you can have hubs mix your BM with some oatmeal and spoon feed it to her. I had to put Grace in daycare in Sept. and she didn't take a bottle or sippy well and she was fine! She finally got the hang of the bottle a few weeks ago, and she takes the sippy better, but my point is she didn't die or even suffer. They spoon fed her, syringe fed her, mixed it with oatmeal and kept trying the bottle and sippy until she took it.

True.

But -- is the transitional stress going to outweigh the benefit of getting out for just a few hours?

Not to mention the OP wants to BF as long as the LO wants...so she'd be thwarting her EBF efforts.

do a trial run...leave the house for a few hours during a time you know she will get hungry. get your hubby to offer her a sippy or a regular cup and see how she does

sometimes they will take it if their regular tap isnt anywhere around. she might surprise you

Well, I guess she'll just have to do a trial run and see how stressful it is. If she has a meltdown, then no, it's not worth it. If she's like mine, she won't even care and it won't hurt her breastfeeding efforts. I think she should just give it a try, but no it's not worth it if it she is unhappy.
