Lots of contractions.

posted 6th Nov
I have been having contractions constantly since about 11o'clock yesterday morning. I was having them every two minutes, and went to the hospital to find out I was 1/2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. My water hadn't broken. They made we walk for two hours, and then checked me again. There was no change. (According to my STUPID nurse, who, when checking me the first time, kept having to stop because she was having "hand cramps" and couldn't find my cervix. She had to have someone else do it! After I walked, she miraculously found it  . ) So they sent me home. My contractions never stopped, but haven't really gotten painful. They're just uncomfortable, and hurt my lower back. I just feel cruddy now though, I've thrown up four times, and my muscles in my stomach are tired and sore, so everytime baby moves it hurts. They told me I was in labor, just really early, how long could this last realisticly?

It could come and go for a few days or it could start right up and become active today.
When I was a few days over my due date I kept having contractions so I went in to see my midwife who checked me and I was only 4cm. But the contractions werent too strong and then they stopped. But I went for a long ass walk and then they started again late that night and the next afternoon I had the baby.
Once they become so strong that its hard to talk through them, you are in active labor and should go in, but not before because they'll just tell you to either go home or walk around. And the farther along you are when you get there the less likely for anything to speed up labor like pitocin. So I'd hang at home as long as you can, I did, I got to the hospital at 9cm with my first and between 6-7cm with my second. I personally hate them so I liked waiting as long as I could.

I just want to be done. I'm sooo miserable. I kinda don't believe the nurse, because she couldn't find my cervix, then she could. I think she just didn't want to look stupid by calling the doctor again. As soon as it warms up some I'm going out for a walk, right now I'm shaking and hardly keeping down water, the contractions are making me soo sick!

Just shaking all the time. Not sure if I'm cold, or it's because I'm throwing up. I just feel terrible, but my contractions still don't hurt.

hmm. i don't know. at that point i was pretty much numb from pain.   but i don't know. it's probably from throwing up...just keep an eye on the contractions. and if you start to feel some pressure in your bottom then definitely go in!!!!

I'm really weirded out because my belly looks sooo different. it starts a lot lower than it used to, my linea negra on top goes flat and then gets a bump. And my belly button is back.

yea everytime you have a contraction it'll look weird...mine looked like a triangle when i had a contraction at first. then i stopped noticing because i had some hardcore back labor... lol and i was more tuned into my back breaking in half than what my belly looked like. but when i was in early labor it'd get all freaky lookin.

No, during contractions it looks hard and funny. I think she probably just dropped, that's all I can think of. When I'm not having a contraction, it looks wayyy different then it has the entire time I've been pregnant.

the baby most likely dropped. when you walk does it feel like there is bowling ball between your legs?

Sometimes. Sometimes I get TONS of pressure, but I was having that in the hospital so apparently it isn't doing anything.

I hope it doesnt last too long, I know how irritating it can be when you're so close and actually contracting. Is like, ok... come on out now! No more teasing!

I know. I'm soo tired. I'm afraid I won't be able to get through actualy labor because my muscles are already sooo tired. My belly is soo tender that it hurts when baby moves. Also, I swear this itching is PUPPP. It's everywhere, and it's killing me. I don't sleep, and nothing helps. I'm losing it.
