Quoting Baby Maker: prob a UTI (which causes kidney infections if not caught soon enough) and a yeast infection. I get them ... [snip!] ... it is yeast the antibiotic will keep the yeast meds from working, i usually need a second dose after I take my UTI antibiotic
Quoting *Giuliana's Mommy*: oh. ugh the neds better work.Could the other infection be bacterial vaginosis? That causes a lot of discharge, and that was the cause of the infection that broke my water. What are the meds you are on?

Quoting *Giuliana's Mommy*: i'm not sure. i have had discharge my whole pregnancy though..and my doctor even told me early on that ... [snip!] ... because i wasn't in pain. so now they sent in my urine sample to see. um the meds are metronidazole and nitrofurantoin mono/mac
Quoting Baby Maker: That is the med to treat BV. I cant believe your DR didnt treat that before, it can cause huge complications during pregnancy and even miscarriage!Ican't believe it either. I had BV at least 3 times with my last pregnancy. BV is not something to be taken lightly, because the last time I had it, it turned into chorio-amnioitis, which broke my water, and I had to have my baby because the infection could have gotten to her, they actually thought it had, but thankfully it hadn't infected my daughter, she had enough going on being born at 27 weeks.

Quoting Baby Maker: No offense but your dr sounds like a complete idiot. You dont just not treat an infection because it is not causing pain! UGH
Quoting *Giuliana's Mommy*: how do you get it? just randomly? Its a common infection in pregnancy, I really don't know how you get it. I had a cerclage in (stitch to keep cervix closed), and thats why I kept getting BV but I have known lots of women who have gotten BV for no reason.

Quoting *Giuliana's Mommy*: thats what i thought. then my mom said she probably wanted to hold off on giving me a bunch of meds. ... [snip!] ... it was, because she told me i had one right after my pap smear when i was like 11 weeks. maybe they didn't test it? who knows. They know right away what it is, every DR office has a microscope, if it was bad enough for them to send off and test they would have looked at it on a slide that day and known what it is. BV is something that a GOOD dr would immediately treat, i had it my last pregnancy and my MW said it is something you dont mess around with. It is just a random thing they dont really know how you get it, some say from contaminated water sources, but it can also be sexually transmitted there is no 1 way to get it...

Do they ever just seem snide with you? I am wondering if they are just being nonchalant because of your age (no offense I dont care)
