implanon

How long does it take for my implanon to become effective? I've tried to google it but I keep coming up with different answers. I've had it for 2 weeks. Do I still have to use backup? My dr never really said how long I have to wait..

its effective immediatlyBUT its recomended to use backup for 7 days just in case

1 week at most. It depends on when you had it inserted and your periods.

Well I got it insterted 2 weeks ago today and before that I had the depo shot so I hadn't had my period for 2 or 3 months. I still haven't had one
