cerclage removal tomorrow!

Im scheduled to be at the hospital at 8:30am and the actual procedure will be at 10am. i am soooooo nervous right now i dont know what to expect, the baby could potentially be born tomorrow if once the stitches are cut i dilate at the speed of light! i have my hospital bag ready and packed just in case he is born tomorrow. i asked my dr what the odds were and she said she really couldnt give me an answer i could go into labor within hours of the stitches being cut or i could end up having to be induced. i cant believe ive made it this far with an imcompetant cervix, my first baby was born at 31 weeks and stayed in the NICU for 3 weeks and it was a horrible experience for us. im very fortunate to have been able to get the best care posible! omg im soo nervous, wish me luck!!!

thanks and it was even though i got an epidural it didnt take and i felt EVERYTHING  

Good luck! I know two girls who had a cerclage and had it taken out and stayed pregnant for weeks, even though they were told they could go into labor at any time. Just some food for thought

I had to get a cerclage but got induced at 39weeks..so I dont know too many people that went into labor right after but I hope for the best for you and your LO!

i found out two weeks ago that i have a weak cervix, and that was at thirty three weeks, a week after i was showing signs of pre-term birth. i've been on bed rest since. and so far so good.
and you're the first post i've stumbled upon about the weak cervix (lol, i really need to browse the forums more)

Good luck! I'm scheduled to get mine out on the 4th of dec. Times ticking much too slow...do you know how long your cervix is? Or if your softened at all?
My doctor said it shouldn't hurt, just uncomfortable. No pain meds unless necessary :/

ok well im back from the hospital, it was not at all how i imagined it! i couldnt even sleep last night cus i was dreading it being so painful if i got 4 hours of sleep that was a lot! ok so the whole procedure took like minutes seriously. it was as uncomfortable as getting a pap smear and didnt hurt one bit. it was done in a regular delivery room i thought id be taken to the o.r. just in case but nope right in the room. i had a couple cramps afterwards and stayed maybe like 1/2 hrfor them to watch for any contractions and monitor the baby.dr said i might have some spotting which is normal and she checked me right after she cut them out and i was 1 cm dilated. so now my waiting game offically begins! i had 2 stitches in and i asked for one to keep and it looks like thick bluefishing wire.

Oh good luck...glad to see your prepared. Luckily your far along enough that if you do deliver...your baby will be FINE!! Good Luck!!!!!
