Are coupons worth the hassle?

posted 5th Nov
I'm trying to scale back our grocery bill as well as our household costs. Is it really possible to save decent money using coupons? If so tell me about it   What tricks do you ladies use to save money?

Where do you get coupons? Idk if I want to subscribe to the local paper it seems like it'll cost more $$ than it'll save.

Well, our local paper is 50 cents a day. I think you could save more than 3.50 a week with the coupons inside.

I save about 10 bucks a week...which doesn't seem like a lot but in a year that is 480 bucks saved ..

But i know there are people out there that barely spend ANYTHING on their grocery bill ..

Yes   Go on double coupon day and still shop the sale items. I save anywhere from $5 to $20 a shopping trip

Don't subscribe....just buy the Saturday and Sunday paper. I sign up for coupons on websites and clip them from the paper. Coupons are like free money IMO. However, I don't always buy the name brand of things because the Walmart version is usually cheaper even w/ the coupons.

I also price compare and do price matching when I get my groceries. I save a lot of money alone just doing that.

A lot of websites have coupons.   You just have to be careful, some stores won't accept printed coupons anymore for some reason. :/ As for groceries, try to buy in bulk if you can. I like Costco or Sams because you can get meat for example REALLY cheap by buying the bigger packs. Same with drinks and toilet paper. x)

Coupons are SO worth the hassle!! I save like 10 bucks a month with diaper and wipey coupons!! and I scale at least 25 bucks off the groceries each time I have to buy them. I'll have to find the website my mom showed me.

I was thinking the same thing about getting only the weekend papers. Does during the week even have coupons? I need to collect sale flyers and take them with me to the commissary, I'm pretty sure they price match.

My cousins gf goes to our local Kroger and they double coupons up to 2.00 and she usually saves over 100.00 a week. You just have to buy whats on sale and use the coupons. I am still iffy on using coupons cause I am kinda lazy and dont want to sit and clip them. And you can just buy the Sunday paper here it is 1.25 and thats where the coupons are.

I don't think so. My strategy is to buy only what I need; I think that coupons only make you buy things you would not have bought without them, which, when you think about it, actually adds to your bill.
